What is MPSC?

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) is a body created by the Constitution of India to select applicants for civil service jobs in the Maharashtra according to the merits of the applicants and the rules of reservation.

The Head Office of the MPSC is located at the Maharashtra State Capital Mumbai. Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) is a Constitutional Body established Under Article 315 of Constitution of India which provides a smooth and efficient functioning of the Government of Maharashtra by providing suitable candidates for various Government posts and advise them on various service matters like formulation of Recruitment Rules, advice on promotions, transfers and disciplinary actions etc.

Selection for various posts is done through the State Service Examination of Maharashtra Public Service Commission.

Pattern of Engineering Service Examination

Exam will be conducted in 3 stages.

1.Prelim Exam – 100 Marks

2. Main Exam – 400 Marks

3. Interview – Interview will be conducted for 50 Marks.

NOTE 1:

The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main/Stage-II Examination will be 15 to 18 the total approximate number of vacancies to be filled in the year through this examination

NOTE 2:

The number of candidates to be summoned for Personality Test will be approx.. Three of vacancies to be filled. The Personality Test will carry 50 marks.

NOTE 3:

Marks obtained by the candidates in the mains Examination and Interview (Personality Test) would determine their final ranking.

NOTE 4:

For each objective question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidate must possess bachelor in Engineering (B.E) in respective discipline from government recognized Institute.
  • Candidate must have degree in one of the following discipline (or Equivalent Degree).
  • BE (Civil )
  • BE (Civil and Water Management)
  • BE (Civil and Environment)
  • BE (Structural)
  • BE (Construction Engineering / Technology)

Age Limit

For MPSC Age Limit general category age limit is at least 19 and not more than 38 as on prescribed date of related advertisement of MPSC exam

Age relaxation is based upon following criteria:
  1. Five years relaxation to the candidates from backward caste categories as per accredited by Maharashtra state. It means OBC/SC/ST candidates can avail the benefit till age 43.
  2. Five years relaxation to the eligible candidates who had played at state/national level and ranked in it.
  3. Five years relaxation to the eligible candidates who served for defense services
  4. Maximum up to 45 yearsfor disabled candidates.
